Questions & Answers

1.) Why should I exercise for my mood?

Regular exercise has been shown to have a positive impact on mood by increasing the production of endorphins, the "feel-good" chemicals in the brain, and reducing the levels of stress hormones such as cortisol. Exercise also helps to increase blood flow and oxygen to the brain, which can improve cognitive function and boost energy levels. Additionally, engaging in physical activity can provide a sense of accomplishment and boost self-esteem, leading to a more positive outlook and improved mood. Overall, incorporating regular exercise into your routine can help to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression, improve mood and overall well-being.

2.) How do I get started?  Always check with your doctor before starting a new exercise program especially with any preexisting health conditions.  Find what type of exercise you enjoy, start slowly, and build up.  Create a routine and dedicate specific days and times for YOU to workout.  Remove possible distractions for the duration of your workouts.  When lifting bring a water bottle, wear comfortable clothing and supportive shoes.  When doing yoga bring your water bottle, have a mat or towel to lay on, and wear comfortable clothing.
